High School Placement

8th Grade families work closely with the school's Director of High School Placement and the Upper School Director throughout the high school placement process. The Director of High School Placement and the Upper School Director help families look for a match between the 8th Graders and the high schools, and they advocate for the students with the admissions offices. Students apply to a wide variety of places, including independent day schools, boarding schools, schools with religious affiliations and public schools; most of them choose independent day schools in the New York metropolitan area. VCS graduates are sought after by the high schools because of their strong academic and personal qualities. Those qualities continue through higher education and beyond.
