Group 303 Family Reading Night
We always love welcoming parents to school for special events and celebrations, but it is also wonderful to find ways for families to get a sense of daily life of VCS – especially the activities and routines of our youngest students, who are so eager to share the exciting experiences of school with their families. With that in mind, this week Group 303 students and parents made a special evening visit to the Library for the first in a series of K/1st Grade Family Reading Nights.
At Thursday’s Family Reading Night, families joined their Group 303 children to hear the true story of a remarkable instrumentalist and changemaker; learned more about the culture and history of one of the greatest cities for music in the country; and created their own wearable art inspired by the read-aloud. Like any visit to the Library, Group 303’s Family Reading Night also included time for browsing and checking out books, providing K/1st Graders with an opportunity to proudly demonstrate their familiarity with the resources of the Library for their families.
