Village Community School occupies the entire block front on West 10th Street between Washington and Greenwich Streets in the Far West Village of Manhattan. Our facility is noteworthy for its spacious, high-ceilinged and sunny classrooms, sky-lit library, art and music studios and elegant auditorium theater space. The original building dates from the Victorian era. A five-story addition doubling the school’s space was completed in 2003. All classrooms are carpeted, air-conditioned and fully networked for computer use, including wireless access for laptops.
The spacious yard adjacent to the building, the modern gym on the fourth floor and the rooftop play area are all used for physical education classes, recess and other outdoor activities. A free-standing building at the end of the yard is the home of our woodshop program.
